The Choir's weekly live half hour broadcast Music and the Spoken Word is the nation's longest-running network program, having run continuously since 1929.
The broadcast takes place every Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the Tabernacle on Temple Square. Those wishing to attend should plan to be in their seats by 9:15 a.m.
From Thursday, May 31 through Sunday, August 26, 2012 and during the month of December the broadcasts will be held across the street in the Conference Center, which can accommodate the larger summer and Christmas season crowds. Broadcasts are also held in the Conference Center during LDS semiannual General Conferences,
which take place on the first Sunday of October and April. Admission on these two Sundays is only available to Conference ticketholders.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir rehearses every Thursday evening in the Tabernacle. Unless otherwise noted below, the rehearsals are open to the public. Doors are opened at 7:30 pm
and the rehearsal concludes at 9:30.
[During the months when broadcasts are being held in the Conference Center (see above), rehearsals also take place there.]

Thirty-minute organ recitals are given in the Tabernacle weekdays and Saturdays at 12:00 noon, and Sundays at 2:00 p.m.
Performances are by the Tabernacle organists and by specially invited guest organists. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day,
a second recital is added in the Conference Center on weekdays and Saturdays at 2:00 p.m.
Doors open 10 minutes before the recitals. For recitals in the Tabernacle, visitors should enter at door #11, which is
located at the east end of the building, close to the flagpole.

The Bells on Temple Square Spring Concert |

The Bells on Temple Square will present “Bells in Motion,” its annual spring concert, on Friday, May 31, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. in the Salt Lake Tabernacle. LeAnna Willmore, conductor of Bells on Temple Square, will conduct the Friday evening performance with associate conductor Larry Smith leading the ensemble for several numbers. LeAnna Willmore was named conductor in June 2011 after serving as the associate conductor since the formation of the group in 2005.
The concert will showcase a broad variety of
handbell repertoire. It begins with “Allegro con
moto,” a fast, lively piece by Jason W. Krug, and
continues with two pieces from Leroy Anderson,
arranged by Martha Lynn Thompson: “Syncopated
Clock” and “The Typewriter.” The music for these
pieces simulates the items in their titles. The
evening will wind up with two familiar pieces:
“You Raise Me Up,” made famous by Josh Groban, and
“Flight of the Bumblebee,” by Nikolai
Rimsky-Korsakov. This is a technically advanced
and challenging piece because of the speed of the
changing bells.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square will perform a concert tonight before leaving for their multi-state summer tour.
The concert is open to the public and will begin at 8:00 p.m. after the weekly rehearsal. Because the concert is especially for friends and family of the Choir and Orchestra, on a one-time basis children five years of age and older may attend.
