The performing venues for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square are the Salt Lake Tabernacle (left) and the Conference Center (right). Most of the weekly broadcasts and rehearsals take place in the historic Tabernacle, for which the Choir is named. Finished by the Mormon pioneers in 1867, its remarkable acoustics provide an ideal setting for the Choir and Orchestra. Daily recitals are also given on the magnificent Mormon Tabernacle Organ. When a larger venue is needed, performances are hosted across the street in the 21,000-seat Conference Center, which was completed in the year 2000.

Sundays 9:30 am Tabernacle	The Choir's weekly live half hour broadcast Music and the Spoken Word is the nation's longest-running network program, having run continuously since 1929. The broadcast takes place every Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the Tabernacle on Temple Square. Those wishing to attend should plan to be in their seats by 9:15 a.m. In June, July, August, and December, the broadcasts are held across the street in the Conference Center, which can accomodate the larger summer and Christmas season crowds. Broadcasts are also held in the Conference Center during LDS semiannual General Conferences, which take place on the first Sunday of October and April. Admission on these two Sundays is only available to Conference ticketholders.

Thursdays 8:00 pm Tabernacle	The Mormon Tabernacle Choir rehearses every Thursday evening in the Tabernacle. Unless otherwise noted below, the rehearsals are open to the public. Doors are opened at 8:00 pm and the rehearsal concludes at 9:30. [During the months when broadcasts are being held in the Conference Center (see above), rehearsals also take place there.]
Date/Location	Organ Recitals
Daily	Organ recitals are given daily on Temple Square by the Tabernacle organists and by specially invited guest organists. The recitals begin at 12:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday (2:00 p.m. on Sundays). From Memorial Day through Labor Day, recitals begin at 12:00 p.m. and at 2:00 p.m. (Sundays at 2:00 p.m. only). The summer 2 p.m. recitals take place in the Conference Center (Monday through Saturday; Sunday is in the Tabernacle) and feature the same program as the 12 p.m. Tabernacle recital, making it possible to contrast these two magnificent organs. Date/Location	Orchestra at Temple Square Fall Concert
October 17 through October 18, 2008 7:30 p.m. Tabernacle	“A Song in Remembrance,” the autumn concert of the Orchestra at Temple Square originally scheduled for October 17 and 18, 2008 has been postponed to March 26 and 27, 2009 due to artist illness. Those holding tickets should discard them as new tickets will be reissued in the spring for the rescheduled concert dates. The concert will be re-announced through press releases and a posting on lds.org and on mormontabernaclechoir.org. Individuals who would like to receive e-mail notice of the rescheduled concert may subscribe to Choir Notes, the Choir’s weekly e-newsletter, at mormontabernaclechoir.org to receive earliest announcement of the ticket release. Our apologies for any inconvenience caused by these unforeseen circumstances.

October 28 through October 30, 2008 6:00 p.m. Tabernacle November 01, 2008 8:30 a.m. Tabernacle	The Mormon Tabernacle Choir will be holding recording sessions this week. These sessions are closed to the public.

October 30, 2008 8:45 p.m. Tabernacle	The Choir's regular Thursday night rehearsal will be delayed due to the recording session. Public is invited to a mini-concert for Wells Fargo Bank personnel that will begin at 9:00 p.m. Doors will open at 8:45 p.m.

November 21 through November 22, 2008 7:30 pm Tabernacle	The Bells on Temple Square will perform their Christmas Concert, “Ring, Christmas Bells, Ring!”, in the Tabernacle, under the direction of Tom Waldron. Tickets will be available for distribution on October 21st.

November 27, 2008 Tabernacle	There will be no public rehearsal of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, due to the Thanksgiving Holiday.

December 11, 2008 8:00 p.m. Conference Center December 12, 2008 7:30 p.m. Conference Center December 13, 2008 7:30 p.m. Conference Center	The Mormon Tabernacle Choir, with the Orchestra at Temple Square and the Bells on Temple Square, will present their annual Christmas Concert. Free tickets are required. Because of the anticipated high demand they will be distributed through the random selection process used last year for Christmas concerts. Random selection sign up for tickets will start on Saturday, Oct 25. Details will be announced earlier that week.
